We will be serving the meal for Neighborhood Cafe HERE at our church on Thursday, Oct 30. Please let Elaine Albertson know if you can provide a dessert.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE will meet next Sunday, October 26 after worship in the fellowship hall.

Come Walk with us!
As daylight gets shorter and temperatures get cooler, we will open the Gym in the Family Life Center on Mondays and Thursdays for the month of November from 5:00pm-6:30pm. If you have questions, please contact Rodney or Shelley. Come to either begin or continue your fitness journey with us!

HANDBELLS ANYONE?
Anyone interested in ringing handbells for Christmas, please let Charlene Sullivan or Bonnie Beggs know. No prior experience necessary!

KIDS’ MINISTRY—VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The kids ministry sign up sheet is posted outside Rodney’s office.
We have openings for Sunday School and Children’s church volunteers.
You can volunteer for Sunday School or Children’s Church OR both!
PASTOR APPRECIATION – October is Pastor Appreciation Month!! This Sunday and the next, there will be a basket in the foyer and one at the front of the worship room if you wish to share a card of appreciation.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection runs thru November 16. Brochures and stickers are on the information table. Also, cardboard shoeboxes are available
Shipping and handling is $10 per box. Remember, DO NOT PUT CANDY OR TOOTHPASTE in the boxes.
NEW: NO SOAP ALLOWED. You can make your own complete box or donate ‘needed items’ for the missions committee to use as they assemble boxes.
NEEDED ITEMS: baby dolls, stuffed animals, small cars & trucks, coloring books, small toys, scissors, glue sticks, pencil sharpeners, small note pads, cap erasers, large erasers, washcloths, Kleenex, toothbrushes, hairbands, hairbows, and hair brushes. REMEMBER THAT THESE ITEMS MUST FIT IN A SHOEBOX! There is a DVD available if any groups would like to view it. If interested, see Janey Stinnett.
Financial donations are greatly appreciated also.
As always, this mission project is in memory of Jackie Johnson.

SHOEBOX COLLECTION SITE
We are a Drop Off site during the National Collection week—Nov. 17-24. If you would like to volunteer, call Janey Stinnett at 336-819-0297. LOADING HELP NEEDED on Monday, November 24 at 10am as the cartons are loaded on a truck.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
Parents & Grandparents: We’re beginning preparations for our Christmas program and would love to know if your child would like to take part this year. This will be on Sunday, December 21 during morning worship at 11am along with the choir’s cantata. Some children may enjoy simply being part of the group, while others might like to have a small speaking role with a couple of lines. If your child is interested in participating, and especially if they would like a speaking part, please let me know. You can send me a quick text at 336-906-0023 to let me know.

AFM QUAKER LAKE FAMILY DAY! Saturday—October 25 (10:00am-4:00pm)
Come to QLC for a day full of Family, Friends, Fun, Food and Fellowship!! Schedule provided in case you cannot be there all day~10:00am-4:00pm
Planned Activities:

  • 10:30-12:30- Canoeing available
  • 12:30-Lunch: Variety of Soups and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
  • 2:00- Corn Hole Tournament
  • 2:00- Kids Fall Craft
  • 3:00- Smores around the fire pit
  • 3:30- Worship/ Worship Songs around the fire pit

Activities available all day: Fishing, Basketball, Walking trails, Fellowship with Friends, Front porch rocking chairs!
